While much of Lodi's historic vineyard land was developed for furrow irrigation, Dogtown's rolling hills made that impractical, leaving the own-rooted, head-trained Zinfandel vines to adapt naturally to the vineyard's iron-rich clay, sandy loam, and volcanic soils. \u003cmeta charset=\"utf-8\"\u003eThe 2024 has a darker, more muscular presence than many of its Lodi neighbors. Black cherry and dark berry fruit meet iron, dark chocolate, orange peel, star anise, and wild fennel.
